Everest Base Camp Trek


Mt. Everest is an well known name to everyone in this world.  The highest mountain in the world scaling 8,848 m.. This base camp trek will provide you an opportunity to see yourself what others have been able to do.

An early morning to the airport in Kathmandu for a short flight to the remote mountain town of Lukla and begin this strenuous but interesting trek, following the Dudh Koshi River to an ancient Sherpa trade route of this area’s famous Namche Bazaar.  Beyond it, you will find traditional villages, rhododendron forests, terraced fields and summer pastures for yak grazing before moving into the stark landscape of glaciers and ice.

Our route will enable you to visit monasteries in the heart of Sherpa country, where you can observe the monks in their daily prayers. You also hike out to the Khumbu glacier to visit the iconic Everest Base Camp, where climbers following the steps of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay prepared for their summit attempts. You can stand at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall, where climbers begin their own odyssey.

You will be accompanied by an English speaking local trekking guide from Kathmandu to Kathmandu.  1 porter will be provided to carry 2 trekkers luggage not exceeding 25 kg in total. Accommodation will be in moderately comfortable lodges run by local Nepali families which will be on twin sharing basis and the toilet facility will be outside of the lodge room.  You will get to choose the food from the menu in the lodge that you stay. Food during the trek is local and continental.  Although you would be on holiday, due to the nature of adventure (trekking), you need to wake up 6 a.m. as you have to cover distance by walking. You will usually arrive for night halt by 3 – 4 p.m.

NOTE:  Upto Dingboche we can provide you rooms with attached toilet and bathroom.  This will be count as luxury trekking.

Everest Base Camp

Representative from International Adventures Treks & Expeditions will meet and greet you outside the arrival terminal of TIA airport, Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel, normally booked in a twin sharing on BB basis.

On this day we will meet at the hotel and have short briefing on our trekking and meet the trekking guide, after this session of briefing we will go for last minute shopping.

Take an early morning flight to Lukla. On a clear sky morning you can enjoy full range of mountains. Upon landing at the Lukla airport your guide will setup all other facilities that is needed during trek and you proceed to trek to Phakding.

This day can be bit tiring as you start your walk, you can feel that you are gradually walking uphill and your guide will tell you Namche is just behind that hill. Do not get distracted just keep walking to have your first glimpse of the Everest before arriving at Namche.

Prepare yourself after breakfast to have short excursion to Everest view point. As it states the name on clear day you can actually see Mt. Everest. The rest of the day is for you to get acclimatize; let your body and mental health adjust with the height.

Where Namche gives you the feel of developed town, Tengboche will set your body and soul to the religious atmosphere. If there are Lama’s on the monastery you can take a tour with your guide.

Our trek from Tengboche will be of short duration comparing to other days, this is to let your body adjust with an altitude and air of the the region. But you will be surprised that you are gaining height with in short period of time but as we say relax and let your mental and body health do the thing.

You are at the elevation of 4400 meters above the sea level and you are all fit and fine with the altitude. Our trekking guide will surely keep an eye on your fitness status and plan an acclimatization trip, to let you adjust more with the altitude. If everything goes well with your health then Chhukung valley is a good place to go for an excursion.

After breakfast, you will have a hiking trip to Chhukung valley and return Dingboche by evening. You can have your best to get as high as possible up to Chhukung Ri (5,546 meters) and don’t miss the great chance to capture the dazzling view of the Mt. Makalu 8,553 meters, the 5th highest mountain in the world.

No doubt after these good days, you are even much more excited and stronger for the Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar and best luck with that. On the way to Lobuche you will be astonished by the breathtaking view of the Himalayas and you will reach Lobuche in 4 – 5 hours of your trek.

Today you are leaving early morning (6:30am) for Everest Base camp to reach on time. It takes approximately take 4 hours to reach Ghorakshep (5,160 meters); the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. You will stop at Ghorakshep for breakfast then continue your trek to Everest B. C. (3 hours) and return to Ghorakshep (2 hours). The most astonishing view from the Everest Base Camp; Khumbu ice falls will be mind-blowing for you. Enjoy the view and get the memory for life time.

Last but not the least, get ready for the most exciting day (provided the weather is clear).
Kalapathar is the best vantage point to observe Mount Everest from a close proximity that’ll mesmerize you. We insist you to start your hike at 4:30 AM that takes nearly 2 hours to reach Kalaptthar view point. After the hike and viewing of Mount Everest, you will return to Ghorakshep. Have breakfast then trek down to Pheriche (4,280 meters).

Tracing back the same trek routes, you will trek back to Namche Bazar via Pangboche and Tengboche, in about 7 hours.

We trek down to Phakding.

Returning through the same trek route of Lukla – Namche Bazar, you will trek down to Lukla via Jorsalle, Manjo and Phakding villages that are 7 hours trip.

After you had early morning breakfast, your flight to Kathmandu is ready to take off. Depending upon the weather condition, the flight may be early morning or late morning or even afternoon.

Based on your flight time we will arrange a hotel pickup for you to be at the International airport in Kathmandu.
Note: Airport time for International flight is 3 hours before your flight.
