Everest Base Camp - 16 Days

Mount Everest is an well known name to everyone in this world.  The highest mountain in the world scaling 8,848 m..  This base camp trek will provide you an opportunity to see yourself what others have been able to do.

An early morning to the airport in Kathmandu for a short flight to the remote mountain town of Lukla and begin this strenuous but interesting trek, following the Dudh Koshi River to an ancient Sherpa trade route of this area’s famous Namche Bazaar.  Beyond it, you will find traditional villages, rhododendron forests, terraced fields and summer pastures for yak grazing – before moving into the stark landscape of glaciers and ice.

Our route will enable you to visit monasteries in the heart of Sherpa country, where you can observe the monks in their daily prayers. You’ll also hike out to the Khumbu glacier to visit the iconic Everest Base Camp, where climbers following the steps of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay prepared for their summit attempts. You can stand at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall, where climbers begin their own odyssey.

You will be accompanied by an English speaking local trekking guide from Kathmandu to Kathmandu.  1 porter will be provided to carry 2 trekkers’ luggage not exceeding 25 kg in total.  Accommodation will be in moderately comfortable lodges run by local Nepali families which will be on twin sharing basis and the toilet facility will be outside of the lodge room.  You will get to choose the food from the menu in the lodge that you stay. Food during the trek is local and continental.  Although you would be on holiday, due to the nature of adventure (trekking), you’ll need to wake up 6 a.m. as you have to cover distance by walking.  You will usually arrive for night halt by 3 – 4 p.m.
