Commence your journey by taking a flight from Kathmandu to Chengdu, and then continue with a connecting flight to Lhasa, Tibet. Arrive in Chengdu and catch your onward flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and allow yourself time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.
Immerse yourself in the captivating city of Lhasa. Begin by visiting the iconic Potala Palace, which was once the residence of the Dalai Lama. Experience the spiritual significance of the Jokhang Temple, a revered pilgrimage site. Take a leisurely stroll through Barkhor Street, renowned for its bustling markets and authentic Tibetan handicrafts.
Embark on a scenic drive from Lhasa to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. Along the way, pause to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes. Marvel at the beauty of the Himalayas and the vast Tibetan plateau. Upon arrival in Shigatse, explore the Tashilhunpo Monastery, an important religious site and the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama.
Continue your journey from Shigatse to Saga, passing through picturesque Tibetan villages. Delight in the awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas and the expansive Tibetan plateau. Upon reaching Saga, settle into your chosen accommodation.
Embark on a scenic drive from Saga to Lake Manasarovar, one of the holiest lakes in Tibet. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes and soak in the serene beauty of the surrounding environment. Upon arrival at Lake Manasarovar, take time to explore the area and immerse yourself in its spiritual atmosphere.
Depart from Lake Manasarovar and drive to Darchen, a small town located near Mount Kailash. Darchen serves as the starting point for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra pilgrimage. Upon reaching Darchen, settle into your accommodation and prepare for the upcoming trekking adventure.
Begin the day with a drive from Darchen to Yamdwar, the entrance gate of the Mount Kailash trek. From Yamdwar, commence your trek and make your way to Dirapuk. Revel in the scenic beauty of the landscape and spend the night at Dirapuk, where basic accommodation is available.
Continue your trek from Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk, passing through the challenging Dolma La Pass. Admire the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers as you make your way to Zuthulpuk. Rest for the night at the guesthouses in Zuthulpuk.
Complete the final leg of your trek from Zuthulpuk to Darchen. From Darchen, drive back to Saga, where you can relax and reflect on your memorable trekking experience. Enjoy an overnight stay in Saga.
Leave Saga and embark on a scenic drive towards Kyirong, a charming border town located on the Nepal-Tibet border. En route, relish the beauty of the landscapes and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. Arrive in Kyirong and check into your accommodation.
