Langtang Valley Trek-Experience the Beauty and Culture of the Himalayas

Langtang is the most visited area after Annapurna and Everest due to its easy accessibility and beauty. In a short time, it not only offers grand views of Langtang Lirung (7234m), Ganesh Himal (7406m) and other high mountain peaks, but also provides insight into the varied ethnic lifestyles of the Tamangs and Sherpas, inhabitants of this area. The trail starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi, which is a full day drive away from Kathmandu via Trisuli. The trail passes through the thickly forested area of blue pine, oaks, maple, spruce and rhododendron (one fourth of the park is forest). The trail follows the Langtang Khola riverbank until Kyangjin gompa. At Kyangin gompa there are various options for short excursions; Kyangjin Ri (4773m) is two hour up and an hour down and it offers spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayas. Visit to Langtang Lirung glacier is 2 hours one-way. Day visit to Langshisa Kharka is worth as it offers views of Shisha Pangma (8046m) across the land of Tibet. From Syabru the trail leads to the holy lakes for Hindus, Gosainkund (7380m), where pilgrims congregate on specific days of the year wash of their sins. The trek down from the holy lake passes through Laurebina La (4600m) and descends drastically through the forestland of Helumbu valley.

    Let's begin the new day of adventure as we leave Kathmandu behind and drive through the picturesque northwestern hills. Enjoy a refreshing lunch break at Trishuli Bazaar before continuing our journey towards Dhunche and descending to Syabrubesi.     We begin our another day of trek through the enchanting Langtang Khola Valley. Traverse deep forests, immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of Langtang National Park, and be captivated by the diverse flora and fauna. The trail leads to Lama Hotel, a significant stopover surrounded by a serene forest. Experience the tranquility of this place and find solace amidst nature's embrace. Set up camp and spend a peaceful night in Lama Hotel.

    Start the day with an invigorating uphill trek through rhododendron forests, where you may encounter the region's wildlife. Enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Langtang Mountain range and immerse yourself in the rich culture of the local Tamang communities.     Today our trekking will be spiritual journey as you encounter age-old prayer stones believed to hold special significance. Immerse yourself in the traditional lifestyle of the locals, who rely on yak herding and farming for their livelihood. Marvel at the Langtang glacier and explore the crafty monasteries in Kyanjin Gompa. Absorb the essence of Tamang heritage and find inner peace in this serene mountain village.     We will make an exciting excursion to Kyanjin Ri, a moderate uphill trek that rewards you with breathtaking views of the Langtang range and the surrounding valley. Take in the awe-inspiring beauty from the summit and then descend to Kyanjin Gompa. Rest for a while before trekking back to Ghode Tabela, surrounded by lush forests and scenic landscapes.
