Tibet the very name evokes feelings of awe and mystery. Mystic and mysterious, the place of ancient Buddhist culture, awesome landscapes, artistic monasteries and centuries- old Caravan trails.  Also known to the world as the roof of the world, the high-altitude Tibetan autonomous Region of China lies on a plateau of an average elevation of 4,000 m.  To the north it is bounded by the Kunlun Mountains and on the south are the Himalayas.  Tibet has an area of 1.2 sq. km. and population of 2.5 million.

For many years Tibet was locked away in its mountain fastness of the Himalayas.  Tibet was, is and in all prospect, will always remain an important destination for the would-be International travelers.  So, what is it all about to visit Tibet?, its history, its people and culture, a nation of red-robed monks,  the tallest mountains, unique monasteries and a way of life that intrigues those not familiar with it will always make sure that the interest in Tibet will always remain alive.
