Chulu East is situated high above the Manang valley and the route to Chulu east is combined with classic Annapurna Circuit Trek. The approach to Base camp is from the village of Manang. Chulu East peak is one of the most gorgeous peak, which are quite rightly included in the larger Damodar Himal. It is bounded by Hunglung Khola, Nar Khola and Phu Khola in north to South and to the south beautiful Marshyangdi Khola and Mesokanta La. In the west is the Kali Gandaki and to the north Parchkya La (5,447 m.).

Chulu east requires prior alpine experience with crossings of fractured glacial terrain and steep scree slopes to gain the main high summit ridge. The breathtaking views across to the Annapurnas 2, 3, 4, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu will boost our enthusiasm to be on the summit to view mountains from high elevation.

We set our high camp at an altitude of 5334 m. beside Chagaji Khola valley. Our walk to Chulu East will also let us experience the mesmerizing views on surrounding peaks, friendly people and the unique culture of Manang valley.

When is the best time to climb? – The best time for Chulu East Peak climbing is autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May).
