Mustang/Lo Manthang Trek – The Lost Kingdom.
The newest are open for travel is Mustang an area often called the Lost Kingdom of Lo. Situated in Western Nepal, above the heavily traveled trail of Jomsom and Muktinath, Mustang is truly a unique adventure into new Territory. Mustang is considered a Moderate Level Trek, and its challenge comes from its rocky terrain and the endless series of small passes one negotiates, day in day out. Walking in Mustang is different too. Rock and sky surrounds the traveler, with the highest pass being at a height of 3950 meters. The Tibetan language, dress and religion permeate Mustang and a sense of awe accompanies the vast landscape of the land. Canyons, prehistoric caves and rocky crags form the texture of the terrain. Often described as desolate and barren, the beauty of Mustang comes from the open spaces and soft colors. The trekking season is late March until early November.
